Can anyone explain what is web hosting.?

I am aware that one needs to purchase a domain name for one%26#039;s website. But anyone explain what is web hosting and how it is difficult from buying a domain name?

definitely keep your domain name and web hosting service separate. It gives you a lot more control in the event you ever need to change one or the other.

The domain name you%26#039;ll definitely have to purchase. The price can be anything from $10 a year to $35 a year... be aware that the lower-priced providers buy domain names in blocks, and if you let your account expire, they%26#039;ll probably hold on to the name and if you need to use it someplace else, you%26#039;ll need to buy it back from them at a premium -- unless it%26#039;s your legally registered trade name, in which case you might be able to send them a nice and legal %26quot;cease and desist%26quot; letter.

The real challenge there might be coming up with a good domain name that hasn%26#039;t been taken already. This article might help...

As for the web hosting, you can actually get that for FREE... and with no advertisements either, if you know where to look...

Then, if you ever need to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; your web hosting to more bandwidth, more storage, more features, etc... all you have to do is point your domain account to the server address of your new web hosting provider.

Web hosting is a service that is provided by companies with huge servers (computers) where you store and broadcast your website. There are 100s of web hosting services out there but you have to be careful about who you use because not all servers are stable. I use Go Daddy for most of my web hosting and domain name registers.

There are a few others I would recommend as well you can see them at :

good luck

Other Replys:There are two DIFFERENT parts in a web site building:

ONE: REGISTERING A DOMAIN:

You have to register a domain with a *registrar*. Godaddy.com is a famous one to do this.

SECOND: MAKE A ROOM FOR THAT DOMAIN:

You can achieve this by getting a hosting. (I don%26#039;t advice the godaddy hosting though).

Once you sign up with a host, you will be given a web panel You can upload your web site to that account.

Usually you will get tons of help at the forums with the hosts.

And you need a html editor to create web pages.

Any Qs? post them here!

Good luck!

Other Replys:Buying a domain means that the domain is registered with you and no one else can use it. But you need a server to %26quot;host%26quot; the stuff that you put on your website. And that%26#039;s web hosting. You can find more info in the FAQ section of an actual web hosting site, like this: http://caantivirusreview.com/hostgator

Other Replys:try www.buyodo.com

Other Replys:actually now most web hosting company offer free domain name with their hosting plan. some would give free domain for life as long as you host with them. you can check below resources to learn more about web hosting plan and other related web host matter. hope that helps a bit.
