It%26#039;s a site based on and in N.I. so IDEALLY I would prefer a local webhost, but, with so many to choose from I%26#039;ve lost the will to live, so I%26#039;ve taken the blinkers off and opened the mind to ANY GOOD web host with the best package.
My website has been created using an offline web-design programme, so this is a whole new ball game for me to register it.

Registering your domain and hosting your site are two separate processes. Some companies will do both for you in the same deal, but it%26#039;s not required. In fact, often package deals are more expensive than doing the two processes separately.
The host is a much bigger decision than the domain name registrar -- you can pretty much use any reputable company to register your domain, simply basing your decision on the price. But if you take shortcuts with the host, you%26#039;ll notice the difference.
I suggest looking around for good deals on webhosts that are ideal for the amount of space you need. If you just want to host pages and images, you%26#039;ll need very little space; if you%26#039;ve got mp3s or videos on your site, you%26#039;ll need more. Find your ideal deal, then go to a host review site (such as http://www.hostdiscussion.com/ or its UK equivalent, whatever that may be) to determine their reputation. There are a lot of good, cheap hosts out there, so don%26#039;t automatically pick the cheapest one if their reputation is a little shaky.
For example, I use DreamHost, which is a very good price for the amount of space they offer, and has a pretty good reputation (probably an A-/or B+, given the complaints I%26#039;ve seen, but I%26#039;m willing to accept that much risk for the price). But if I had a smaller site and would be okay with less space, I%26#039;d look around for something cheaper, because DreamHost%26#039;s cheapest plan offers more space than most people need.
Some hosts offer free domain registration along with their hosting plan (for example, my host allows one free domain registration per year).

I use a company called www.megadealhosting.com when i first started I had no idea how to go about setting up a website, but their support was fantastic and still is to this day.
You would just need their basic plan which is 鎷?.99p per month. You would also need your own domain name which they sell for 鎷?.99 but the best bit is.... if you pay a year in advance then you get the domain name free ( 99p x 12 = 鎷?1.88 - 鎷?.99 = 鎷?.89 for a whole year.)
