I am looking for a server that%26#039;s not going to cost an arm and a leg to download and beable to run from my computer with out to much trouble..I have some backgrounds and images that I would like to code so people could use them on neopets and my space..I know there are some free hosting servers out there I have two already but that%26#039;s not enough I need more cause I had some requests that I need to fill...any help would be great!
Where can I download a hosting server for free?
If your only going to host images, http://www.photobucket.com works great, not only is it free, but also very fast and from what I can tell there aren%26#039;t any transfer limits (I have yet to hit them so far on the free account, which hosts many large images for several high-traffic myspace pages and the like)
Now, if your wanting to host your own webserver, there are a few options that are free for you.
Apache is a web-server, which has a ton of options you (and alot of others, myself included) you%26#039;ll never need, however there is a package called %26#039;wamp%26#039; for windows, which will setup Apache for you, along with PHP4 and 5, and a MySQL server. Its very easy to get to working.

You%26#039;ll also need a domain for your server, http://www.dhs.org/ is free, and there are scripts and utilities out there that will automatically update your dhs entry if you have a dynamic IP address (Unless you pay specifically or a static IP address from your ISP, you have a dynamic one)
Another VERY simple web server is BabyFTP

Extremely easy to setup and use, I actually recommend it for what you want to do.

Your OS may have come with a Web server already (IIS for Windows, or Apache for Mac OS X and Linux). If it didn%26#039;t, you can get Apache, which is widely used, powerful, and free; see http://httpd.apache.org .
Other Replys:Try getting a free account at http://www.filexoom.com , they offer 2GB of storage, and 20GB bandwidth, plus you can host basically any type of file you want.
