Do you need both domain and hosting to build a website?

yes you do, get a domain at http://www.LocoDomains.com

Get hosting at http://www.JuicyHosting.com

Do you need both domain and hosting to build a website?

Yes. If you want to built your own independent website than you will need a domain name registered first (under your name preferably) and than web hosting.

Some hosts will do the whole process as one transaction ie. they let you choose and register the domain name and than offer you the hosting in the next step (or the other way around depending on webhost).

However if you only want any website and dont care about having it fully under your own domain (or are on short budget) than there is large number of providers and host who will give you some space for free and with domain such as YOURCHOSENWEBNAME.theprovidersname.com and similar.

Other Replys:SiteVIN has both as part of the package.

Other Replys:Yes, you need both a domain and web hosting to build a website. If you already have a domain name registered, then you can configure your web hosting account to point to that domain name.

Many web hosting providers give you a free domain name when you sign up for a year%26#039;s worth of web hosting, which is really nice.

I%26#039;ve used HostMonster and Lunarpages, and recommend them both for their features, price, and technical support. In fact, I%26#039;m hosting about 15 sites on a single Hostmonster account that only costs me $5.95 a month :-)

They both offer a free domain name and you can host unlimited domains with a single account using HostMonster. Other things to consider are the number of databases and web site templates that come with the account, in case you decide to grow your site in the future (phpBB for forums, Wordpress for blogging, Drupal for content management, etc).

There%26#039;s a comparison of web hosting features and prices at the link below, as well as a list of hosts to avoid (including godaddy, yahoo, and others that are way overpriced in my opinion when you compare their price with what other hosting providers give you).

Other Replys:you have to register domain name 1st then hosting. you have required the both. I use http://www.techedgeindia.in

Other Replys:Well actually YES u need both to have your web presence on the net...the domain name gives address to your web site and hosting space to upload ( put) your content.

I suggest you find a domain name first and then go for web hosting service.

Secondly there are so many hosting companies offering you FREE domain names for life if you register with them ....i think you should try visiting http://xekom.com they have the list of best web hosting companies there and their deals and info u can choose any one of them as all of them all reputed. good luck.

Other Replys:Domain name registration and web hosting are two separate services required for a web site. The domain registration tells your URL where to go, and the hosting houses all the files that end up showing up when someone goes to your site.

It%26#039;s easiest to do both through the same site.

I use 1%26amp;1. They give the best packages.

Other Replys:Go to a site such as http://www.getawebpage.net

Pick a hosting company (I recommend startlogic)

When you sign up for your package they will ask you to choose an available domain name. You get the hosting and the domain at the same time.
